Control
of acne is an ongoing process, it is a daily
homework that you must exercise diligence
on. Negligence of good skincare hygiene and
habits can worsen acne conditions.
The
following measures serve as good reference
guidelines to prevent acne problems from
worsening:
-
Clean
the skin gently with a suitable cleanser
or mild soap twice a day. It is
recommended for you to use a product
that contains antiseptic, such as an AHA
facial wash that is specially formulated
for oily and acne-prone skin. You should
avoid scrubbing your skin excessively as
this could worsen the acne
problem.
-
Avoid
frequent rubbing or touching of
acne-prone skin, as this could introduce
and encourage the growth of bacteria
within the pores and hair follicles of
the skin.
-
You
should avoid squeezing, picking,
scratching, or rubbing your skin. Scars
may form if pimples are squeezed. You
should also avoid putting your fingers
and hands to your face unnecessarily.
-
Avoid
sun tanning. Although a suntan or sunburn
that reddens the skin can make blemishes
less visible and make the skin feel
drier for a little while, the benefits,
however, are only temporary. The sun can
seriously damage skin, promote premature
aging of skin, and may cause skin
cancer.

People
being treated for acne often need to
change some of the cosmetics they use.
All cosmetics, such as foundation,
blush, eye shadow, and moisturizers,
should be oil free or water based. It is
also advisable not to use cosmetics too
heavily or too often.
-
You
should try to adjust yourself to a more
relaxed frame of mind. Stress can help
to get the hormones churning, and
hormones are one possible reason for
pimples breakouts. This is why some
users may find that they suffer from
more frequent breakouts whenever they
are stressed up.
